Yim Sinorn: Only the Cambodian People's Party Can Maintain Peace

PHNOM PENH: Recent opposition defector and brand new member of the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP), Yim Sinorn, has stated that he believes only the CPP can maintain peace and lead Cambodia down a path of progress like other developed countries.

Yim Sinorn made this statement during the ceremony to welcome 180 new members to the CPP’s Phsar Doeum Thkov commune Committee, held at the party headquarters in Chamkarmon district, Phnom Penh.

"We are very proud to have contributed as members of the Cambodian People's Party," he said.

He vowed his full support for the decisions made by the CPP Central Committee regarding the upcoming General Elections on 23 July 2023. He declared his unanimous support, along with other party members, for Prime Minister Hun Sen to continue as the country’s leader, and to elect the Prime Minister’s eldest son, Gen. Hun Manet, as the party’s future prime ministerial candidate.

He further stressed his dedication to protecting peace, political stability, security and social order in Cambodia, as well as to prevent any attempts made by the opposition to break this peace, while loyally serving the CPP. He said he is determined to mobilize all his relatives, family and friends to support the election process and vote for the CPP in July.

Yim Sinorn is a former member of the Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP) who lived in South Korea. He applied to join the CPP on 21 April 2023, and was soon after appointed by the King of Cambodia as a new Under Secretary of State for the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training.
